Jarifa: supporting the social Extremadurathome.org project

Extremadurathome.org is a popular science project that tries to encourage citizens, from Extremadura, Spain, to join the great BOINC community. The project promotes science and BOINC by means of social networks (Facebook, Flickr, Orkut), a public web page (Extremadurathome.org), forums and by giving talks around the Extremadura region. The backbone of Extremadurathome.org is Jarifa, a new open source BOINC's tool that allows institutions to create/manage a desktop grid computing platform based on BOINC resources. Jarifa allows the collaborations from other entities that want to cooperate by donating their BOINC resources/clients and/or volunteers that could be also interested in collaborating with the institution. Jarifa simplifies the management of hundreds of BOINC resources allowing institutions to control any BOINC aspect (BOINC preferences and BOINC projects) from a centralized web page.
